We keep them as a herd, with turnout all year round, which leads to
balanced well mannered unstressed youngstock,
the constant exercise helps the bone growth and strength of young horses
which leads to less problems in later life. The Youngsters learn manners
from the older mares, making life easier for us.
The pictures you see on this website are off our horses without having hard
feed, just good quality adlib hay/haylage, grass & mineral blocks allowing a
steady unpushed growth. 2010 will see a big reduction in our herd as a lot of them are 4 year olds ready now for backing and leaving home.
January 2010 we are now backing Flora, Monty, Fido, Hera & Fluer. We have backed Magee & Merlot over the winter.
Jan 27th Fluer is now riding around the yard, arena and field just in one week, Flora has been sat on and ridden across the yeard, Hera has had tack on. Magee is now established in even paces on arena and hacking out round fields, Merlot was turned out in snow but was riding round arena.
