Ed is a chunky, cheeky colt foal, born 2005, he hopefully be a
replacement endurance horse to Rosie his mother for the future, but still
with the Cleveland Bay strength and stamina. We are keeping him entire for
now as he is quite a character with a super combination of Arab & CB,
he is sensible and confident with that bit of extra zing. If he
behaves he will stay intact, he is cheeky at the moment, and definately more
advanced in his attitude to mares that the CB's. Now the boys have
mares in with them they seem to have calmed down and stopped being so rowdy.
He is very inquisitive natured and sensible to lead and do, but has that
lovely floating extended trot. He is also quite a striking colour, the
same as his father, we thought he was going grey as his main is dark at the
routes but he may be a peculiar chestnut with four white socks. He would
be nice to use on ponies to upgrade to a slightly larger floating but
bulkier horse. He has a good strong body without additional feeding.
We have gelded Ed, after his little antics along the fence line, as I am
hoping to compete on him, it will be safer if he is gelded. He was so well
behaved even entire, but quite a panchant for the women. He can now
have a wonderful time in the big field with the rest of the herd next year. |
